Heat killed Raspi & SD Card while running HifiBerry DAC+Light HW1.3

Hi, i am new to the hifiberry. I had the problem that running Pi with the hifiberry lead to oberheating of my pi. It was running for 5 min and then my sd card and my raspberry was completely ruined. I started my project with a new installation of Raspberry Pi OS Lite and I installed only pulseaudio and started pairing my phone and i played a song from my phone and then it crashed. My Pi hat heat sinks on and wasnt in an enclosure. This is very weird and i am scared to try out the hifiberry on another pi. How can i test the hifiberry on it normal functionality and safe usage ? Anything helps, thank you.

  The Pi's CPU automatically throttles if it gets too hot. It can't "overheat". What do you mena by "completely ruined"?

  Well it doesn't work anymore. The pi won't boot. I tried it with a new sd card.

  Check what's shown on the screen. The Pi should work just fine even without a heat sink. If it's really broken, check with the dealer about a warranty replacement (if it's a new one).
