kuemi Same here, but in my case it is unrelated to Smart Shuffle - and with ANY spotify connect device i have. I am afraid that its a bug that came with the recent Spotify update of the Spotify app itself...

Maarten Roelofs Yes same here, even if I don't use smart shuffle it seems to be looping through songs. But I see a lot of songs passing by that I don't even have, so that is why I suspect it is some kind of smart shuffle thing.
If I run through Bluetooth instead of Spotify connect everything seems to be working fine but I don't really like that.

kuemi I had/have a chat with Spotify support. Quite a challenge ...
Last info i got:
So, this is what we found: https://www.hifiberry.com/blog/using-spotify-with-hifiberryos/. HiFiBerry does not officially support it. Spotify is the most popular music streaming service worldwide. While the app works pretty well for smartphones and computers, Spotify does not officially offer a ‘headless’ player that could be used in a system like HiFiBerryOS. Volumio doesn't support it either. None of these devices support or are supported by Spotify, so the Connect feature won't work with them. You will need to find a workaround, as mentioned on their respective websites/support pages, to connect a Spotify account in each device and use it that way.
does not make me happy ...

HiFiBerry team There is no official open source application for Spotify. That's the same for other streaming platforms. The only real "supported" services are basically Quobuz and Tidal with Roon (while Roon isn't open source, it's integrated as an official client in HiFiBerryOS). Even Airplay can break any day as all these players are develped from reverse engineering the protocol. This can work better or worse and Spotify seems to change some stuff regularly requiring new workarounds. I understand that there is some work by the librespot developers to fix this. This means there is a chance that this will work in HIFIBeryOS64 in the future again. Howeve, we can't guarantee anything as lng as Spotify doesn't offer an offical client.and it looks like they are not interested in this.

Maarten Roelofs Does it work for you again now too kuemi?
-
kuemi Yes Maarten! :)
I guess that was a Spotify internal issue then, i also guess according to the chat i had with the Support Team, that we were not the only one affected, they complained that they are very busy at that moment...
@HifiBerryTeam> thank you, yes that is how i understood that. I don't like that strategy of Spotify, but that's how it is.

Maarten Roelofs Cool for me too, I contacted the Spotify and told them to fix the problem, although it was a bit hard to contact them at first, they did fix it very fast like I told them to, so now we are very happy with the Spotify!

Knut See https://support.hifiberry.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/21348779832605 for a possible solution (which worked for me).
You might have to stop+start the Spotify Connect source to make it work (or alternatively the Raspberry)
