No output from Digi+pro

I loaded Moode onto my Rpi and yesterday I was able to stream via the Digi+pro coax SPDIF to my DAC. Today however there is no output. I have also tried the optical output but this is the same.

I have connected an alternative coax SPDIF source to my DAC and this is fine.

In Moode there is an Audio info function and when I have a good internet radio source selected it shows this -

 Output Stream

Format:	32 bit, 44.1 kHz, Stereo
	Rate 2.822 mbps   I  tried the stereo test option and still no output. The opto o/p led is illuminated but presumably is not being modulated. I have of course power cycled the RPi.  Is there anywhere I could check for the SPDIF signal on the Digi+Pro board with a scope or can anyone suggest anything. I bought the Pi and Digi+Pro a couple of months back from HiFiBerry.

  Hi,

  the Digi+ Pro needs updated drivers that are available since August. You need to check if the Moode developers already updated their kernel. What is the output of "aplay -l"?

  It worked yesterday so I know the drivers are good. I do not know what aplay -1 refers to. If it's something I can check from Terminal on my Mac I will check.

  Hi,

  unfortunately the output from the GUI doesn't help. You need to login with ssh and run the command "aplay -l".

  Here is an example how to do this on a Mac:

  Ok, let's try something different. Please install a plain Raspbian from here:
  http://downloads.hifiberry.com/images/raspbian-lite.zip

  Then run the command

  play -n synth sine 1000

  Does this generate a signal on your DAC?

  I get this

  this looks like the card isn't configured correctly. What is the output of 

  aplay -l

  I cannot see the file asound.conf in etc/

  Ok, please create a file /etc/asound.conf with this content:
  
  

  pcm.!default  {
   type hw card 0
  }
  ctl.!default {
   type hw card 0
  }

  Then run the play command again.
