Which image will work with the Digi+ Pro, I have a new Digi+ Pro but can't get it going. (I am using RPi 3). Arch linux kernel update breaks Runeaudio and I can't get any sound out of Volumio even though i can see it listed as a device when I do a aplay -l. Anyone else had success getting the Digi+ Pro to work?
For background information, I'm feeding a Naim nDac over spdif coax, hifiberry digi+ is working normally with both RuneAudio and Volumio.
Both distributions got samples from us, but I can't say when the updated kernel will be included in their distributions. I recommend to directly contact them. They might be able to tell you more, maybe even give you a link to a beta release.

I think moodeaudio is working on the digi... I use picoreplayer myself but then you need a LMS installation somewhere.
Hi, I success making work a "Digi+ PRO" with Runeaudio 0.4 on my Raspberry PI2 today :)
The only trick was to upgrade the Kernel from 4.1 to 4.4 on runeOS using the ArchLinux command "pacman" ...
The sound goes from the Digi+ PRO to my DAC (a NAIM v1) using a coaxial (QED Reference Digital Audio 40) cable.

here is a quick procedure to upgrade runeaudio for hifiberry digi+pro starting from the last img (called RuneAudio_rpi2_rp3_0.4-beta_20160321_2GB.img)
connect your raspberry on your local network
> ssh root@192.168.0.20 (put you ip! the password is: rune)
first of all you MUST extend the partition on your sdcard. 2GO is not enough for kernel upgrade, use a 8GO sdcard and extend.

it use the linux command > fdisk
then update the kernel from 4.1 to 4.4., by typing that 2 commands :
> pacman -Sy --force raspberrypi-firmware raspberrypi-bootloader linux-raspberrypi
(in case of download failed do a "pacman -Sc" to clean the cache , before relaunching the command pacman)
> sync
reboot, choose hifiberry in runeaudio mpd sheet, should work ...

A few months too late to this, but Groundlooping's post above worked great for me -- I was having the same problems mentioned above.
I'm using the HiFi Berry DIGI+ PRO.
Couple of notes for those who find this...
1. Probably pretty straightforward, but the runeaudio.com link mentioned in the previous post states that resize2fs should be used on /dev/mm...p0 (or ...p1). This is probably false for you. Just make sure you use the same partition name you did above during the fdisk process (for me, the stock image ended up putting rootfs on /dev/mmcblk0p2).
2. Be patient while rebooting after the pacman kernel upgrade command. It should take quite a bit longer than the 30 seconds or so RuneAudio normally takes to reboot.

totally agree with Carter, the RuneAudio extend-partition procedure is a generic procedure that each has to adapt with the name of his partition on his card. Ok, that's said now.
After installing and testing there was still a little mistake for me. When a stream start, after pushing the Play button from my device (Samsung tab or computer), the first little second of music (the first note) is lost in the numbs of my system. I rekon maybe not the fact of the digi+, nor the DAC, but certainly the configuration of the digi+pro into RuneAudio. This is not so serious, but I didn't resolve it, and tricks me ...
Did someone meet that problem ? found solution ?
this maybe will be a discussion about audio Stream Cache in runeaudio, i try modifying the level of those cache, but didn't work ...

Yep, I also have a bit of a delay that forces the first 0.n seconds out of my playback. I've so far been dealing with it by playing the song that comes before what I want to really listen to before I want to listen to it.
That sounds weird but yeah, what you said...
Anyway, it's seems to be a platform dependent issue. For rujeaufio at least, under settings, there is something where you can set "audio cache" or something like that. I'll update this post when Im back home and can read the system I'm running.
The takeway here is that there's a setting in runeaudio somewhere that you should be able to change and set how to want. Some CACHE parameter. The higher that is, the larger the delay into the beginning of the song you'll get delayed.
I'll try to get back on this soon to report my findings, but again, I'm not home now, so this is the best I can do for now.
