ItHey folks. I need some advice here. Currently I'm using a Yamaha V379 receiver with 2 X 2 Wharfedale Diamond 220 + 1x 220C Speakers.
As playback device I'm using a Raspberry Pi 3 with Kodi. It's connecting to the AVS via HDMI.
AFAIK as I'm using the passtrough setup in Kodi this should feed a bitperfect audio to the receiver so the cheap components of the Raspberry Pi itself doesn't have an effect on the quality of the sound.
Correct me please if I'm wrong.
Still I'm wondering if I get a better sound quality with the addition of a Hifiberry DAC+ Pro. I need some clarification in this topic though.
If I let the analog conversion do with the Hifiberry DAC does this mean that the internal DAC of the Yamaha receiver doesn't have an effect on the quality of the sound anymore ?
I imagine this is true if I im outputting 2 ch sound with the "straight" setting. But what if I'm using a dsp mode for having 5ch music ? The sound will be processed by the internal DAC of the Yamaha receiver nullifying the efforts of the Hifiberry DAC ?
Thank you for your help.
