Installation Issues

So I attempted to configure the latest Raspbian for my hifiberry dac pro.

I used the documentation here:

https://www.hifiberry.com/guides/configuring-linux-3-18-x/

It appears to be a bit out of date:

/etc/modprobe.d/raspi-blacklist.conf - this file no longer seems to exist.

"snd_bcm2835"

This line does not exist either in /etc/modules.

I foolishly made a simple mistake and actually *added* the lines:

blacklist i2c-bcm2708
blacklist snd-soc-pcm512x
blacklist snd-soc-wm8804

To a blacklist file, and I commented out the line in /boot/config.txt which related to the Pi's built in audio hardware (instead of commenting the non-existent line in /etc/modules).

I followed the rest of the documentation and after a reboot I could see hifiberry modules in lsmod output.

However, aplay -l displayed no audio hardware!

When I realized my mistake I deleted the blacklist file from /etc/modules.d and rebooted. My Pi failed to come up!

I'm going to check around when I get home - but the main reason for my post is to suggest that the documentation no longer seems to fit new versions of Raspian.
