imago mortis Hi Guys,
I tried the flasher and at first it didn't boot, rainbow screen.
I tried with "force_eeprom_read=0" and although I can boot there's a message saying that no hifiberry card has been detected, the process goes on anyway, apparently writing the eeprom for almost a minute, but after the reboot I just have the same message about no card being there.
am I missing something ?
Thanks in advance for the support.

HiFiBerry team What card do you try to flash? Did you press the white button?
Best regards,

imago mortis Hi Daniel,
that's a DAC+ and yes I was pressing the button the whole time.

Mike Burgert I tried this utility today. With a DAC + Pro. Nothing but lines of errors on the screen. Tried using both a Pi2b and a Pi3. And tried flashing the SD card twice.

HiFiBerry team Hi Mike,
do you have a DAC+ Pro with a small white button? You need to press this until the flashing is finished.
Best regards,
Daniel -
Mike Burgert Yes, I have a DAC + Pro, and it has a white switch/button. I wrote the flasher image file to an SD card, inserted it into the Pi with HDMI cable connected to monitor to see what was happening on screen. Nothing on the screen but a bunch of hardware error messages of some kind. No prompt to "push the white button". Tried pushing the white button while the messages were popping up on screen, with no results, for over 1 minute. Tried pushing and holding the white button while applying power to the Pi. Nothing worked.
Honestly, I like the sound quality of your products, I've bought a few, an original hifiberry, Digi Plus Pro with isolation transformer, and two DAC + Pros, but the Pi3 with the DAC + Pro has been a nightmare of WiFi problems, and I have been literally trying to make this work correctly for month. I'm using Volumio 2 by the way...
I also saw the post regarding not using certain WiFi channels. Really, it should not require special configuration of a person's router to make the DAC work with the most popular, and your only supported SBC!
Thanks,
Mike

HiFiBerry team Hi Mike,
we could identify the WiFi problem. Unfortunately this took some time, but now we could identify the root cause. We're working on an updated board. We will come back to you when it is available.
The firmware flasher has nothing to do with this. It only write the EEPROM that you don't have to configure the board by hand anymore. I will have a look at this problem in the next time.
Best regards,

Mike Burgert Daniel,
Any developments with the new board design?
Thanks,
Mike

HiFiBerry team Dear Mike,
as this has nothing to do wit the firmaware flasher, I have created a ticket for this question.
Best regards,
Daniel
