I want to install osmc on pi3 with Digi+. The Hifiberry Installer program says Digi+ incompatible with pi3, and refuse to install osmc.
In a post, you says "

How can I install osmc on my pi3 with Digi+ ?

Hi, when I do that, (OSMC from OSMC web page) , digi+ is not recognised ... in the list of audio output I have "ALSA: Default (bcm2835 ALSA bcm2835 ALSA) ", audio signal stay on HDMI, no signal on digi+...

You can try the normal Linux configuration guide from here:

However, I think you can configure the HiFiBerry card also in the OSMC configuration menu. I don't have an OSMC here and can't say where exactly to click, but the OSMC developers should be able to help you with this.

I have tried to follow the configuration guide, but I still not able to select the HiFiBerry card as the Audio output in OSMC.
Can't find aplay, tried with:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install aplay
but last command resulted in:
E: Unable to locate package aplay
Installed mplayer instead and tried with:
mplayer -ao help
It resulted in:

I guess that to HiFiBerry should have been listed, but it isn't.
I did tried with:
dmesg | grep hifiberry
and it resulted in:

the dmesg output shows that the card is configured correctly.
run "aplay -L" as root and you should see the card.
aplay is part of the alsa-utils package.
apt-get install alsa-utils

Wow, that's a lot of drivers that are loaded there. Unfortunately I don't know if this is right and what needs to be configured in OSMC. You need to ask the OSMC developers directly. Please post this in the OSMC forum, the developers should be able to help with this.

I just got it to work, and as always I previously just made it more complicated then necessary.
The only thing that is needed to enable HiFiBerry cards is to:
1. Go in to the "My OSMC", select "Pi Config", and under "Hardware support" select "Soundcard Overlay" as the HiFiBerry card that has been mounted.
2. Reboot the OSMC
3. In the OSMC System Settings, and Audio output, select the same HiFiBerry card.
And then it the works.
