Same as the Pro, with native DSD support (would be transparent using DoP).

igor_s Actually I was able to build MPD myself with DSD/DSF support enabled.
Now my MPD can play dsf-diles, but with hiccups, not ofter though, but annoying enough.
I think it's probably because almost 100% load on one Pi 2 CPU core.
May be on Pi 3 the playback could be more smooth. Can't try, cause have only Pi 2.
Or MPD DSF decoder could be optimized somehow... -
HiFiBerry team Hi Scott,
DoP is already possible with the Digi+. We have implemented this already with our Roon image, but it should work with any application that can create a DoP data stream.

Lawshrinkmd Please explain more about DoP for DSD on the Digital+. I thought that USB or I2S is required for DSD output, Andy that the spdif coax only handles PCM out. I would love a DAC with DSD decoding built in

HiFiBerry team DoP is simply a way to encapsulate DSD in a PCM stream. DSD decoding can be done in software, you don't need a special hardware for this.

Lawshrinkmd I'm curious, what does a DSD capable dac do then? Is it just marketing hype to have Dacs which can decode DSD vs having the computer convert it to PCM?

HiFiBerry team Let me just link a document about this:
Best regards,

Jakub Kostynowicz Is DSD128 also supported?
-
HiFiBerry team There is no DSD support. You can encapsulate DSD64 in PCM to send it over SPDIF. If you want to play DSD file, look for a player that can convert it into PCM.

Jakub Kostynowicz Ok, thx for answer
Best,
