Has anyone at HiFiBerry thought of making a high end audiophile product that does active crossover through DSP of the signal and then feeds the high and low digital signal into separate class D amplifiers?
I am not an EE but if you could split the digital signal in the RPI with DSP software then feed the low pass digital stream to one Amp+ board and the high pass band to another Amp+ board.
This would allow active crossover support, true bi-amping and higher (double) wattage output too. I would buy several.
Yes you could do the similar things (bi-amping, high power, etc.) downstream of your DAC product but keeping the digital stream on the IS2 bus and sharing the RPI clock all have there advantages.
