Using a flat cable between Hifiberry Amp+ en Raspberry Pi 2

Can I use a 40 pins GPIO flat cable of 20 cm  between the Hifiberry Amp+ and the Raspberry Pi 2 without quality loss? Or is 10 cm cable a better option?

For my project I can't use the amp+ above the Raspberry.

Are there any temperature issues to know? Is there for example a fan needed?

  Yes I can and no fan needed! It works fine with a 20 cm long 40 pins flat ribbon cable.
