I live in Canada and want to buy an Amp+ for my 2-speaker (40w) system from http://buyapi.ca. Unfortunately, they don't sell a tested power adapter, and buying the recommended Meanwell adapter would add 60% of the unit price as shipping costs. Would any of these work instead?

Anton (HiFiBerry team) Hi,
I know it is difficult to get the Meanwell power suplly in Canada, I found it in the US at Mouser and Allied Electronics, not sure about their shipping rates.
In general, the power supplies you posted should work, they should have 12-18 V. The HDC is probably too weak, since it has only 2A output, therefore just 24 W. The other 3 mention 60W or 5A output, so they probably work, but of course, since we don't know these parts, we can't guarantee it.
Cheers,

istevens Thanks Anton. The HDE is 5a (in the title and on the sticker) but the description says 2000 mA. The comments confirm it is 5a. The inner diameter of the HDE connector is 2.5mm (as is the Intocircuit connector), so that would be too large. I am going with this one: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00SH52ZUI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 -
HiFiBerry team You can try this. With 12V this should work fine. However, we can't say anything about the quality. The Meanwell power supplies are very good, it is possible that low-price power supplies will not give you the best audible performance. Unfortunately there is no easy way to see this by just looking at the product data sheet. Especially with no-name power supplies the quality can vary. That does not mean that these are bad, it is just not possible for us to say how they will perform. But the most important thing: They won't damage your Amp (at least if they are not defective).
Best regards
Daniel
