extern akku for Hifiberry Amp
doas anny one of you know an possibility?
It's been a while.....
So how are people batterypowering their AMP+ ?
i heavily dislike the idea of a lead battery... for a small 2A Battery thats already over 1kg.
Using 2100mAh NiMH 1.2V cells in a series would only result in about 300g.
With 4 LiPo 3.7V cells it would be even lighter. 5.2A Packs are on sale for 18 Euros, and 20C should be enough for the Amp+.
Talk about Discharge rate.... two more questions:
A: Does the Amp+ send the input Voltage to the Pi? Is there any way to know when the battery Voltage will drop too low?
B: How much power does the Amp+ draw? Maximum 25W.... for one or two speakers? so 50W FullPower Stereo? Meaning the LiPo pack would last 1.5h? And is the Powerdraw linear or is using 50% volume only using 30% Energy?
Anyone has used a Battery for a longer time period and can tell how long it lasts?
Hi,
the Amp+ does not measure the input voltage. I strongly recommend to use a protection circuit between the battery and the Amp+ when you're using LiPo batteries.
Power consumption of the Amp+ depends on the output volume. In many use cases the average consumption of the Amp+ will be below 0.1A. This has nothing to do with the volume control setting, but how loud the music you're playing really is.
