Received the small thing of beauty that is the amp+
Attached the hat as per the instructions, but am not getting getting any activity / power lights on the PI
Have check the PSU with a multimeter and output is okay and stable
Are there any other troubleshooting steps I can take?

HiFiBerry team What kind of PSU do you use? How is it connected to the Amp?
Best regards

horatioen Hi Daniel
Super fast reply, thanks
Am using a 16V switching PSU with a barrel connector
I've measured the output when not connected with a multimeter and its stable at 16V
It looks like it's making a good connection, but can I measure across the terminal block to confirm, or will that short something?

HiFiBerry team please measure above the left 2 terminal screws. Also measure the voltage over C303 (on the lower left side of the board). Please also post more details of your PSU (vendor, specifications).

horatioen Hi Daniel
0V over C303 and 24V between the two terminal screws
The PSU details:
Pri: 220V 7W
Sec 15.3V 210mA 3.2VA -
HiFiBerry team The 210mA are way to low for the Amp. Your power supply should provide at least 2A. However with 24V between the terminal screws, you most likely killed the voltage regulator. The Amp+ is designed up to 18V. Looks like your power supply is having an output that it much higher. What kind of power supply are you using there?
You can send us the Amp back to our Swiss office, but there is a good chance, that your 24V output from the power supply destroyed the voltage regulation stage.

horatioen Damn! I'm gutted :( I was so careful to check the voltage output with a multimeter.
When I measured it didn't exceed the 18V recommendation :(
It was a transformer that I had around the house, thinking to use temporarily while building the setup. It's labeled as a hka-15321
Damn, damn, damn.
I guess it's obvious to most folks buying the amp about the 2A - would be great to have sticky here on the forum with PSU selection guidance.
I guess I'll send it back to you guys just incase there's anything you can do / use it for
Thanks for quick answers here Daniel, have a great weekend -
HiFiBerry team Hi,
yes, please send it to us (to the Swiss office). We will see if there is something we can do. In general, we recommend a Meanwell power supply in our shop:
