I'm working at ELL-i Open Source Co-operative, ell-i.org. We're making Power over Ethernet HAT for Raspberry Pi B+ & 2. As we're interested in checking how our HAT works with other HATs, we made a media center which uses HiFIBerry DAC+ and Kodi to give a smooth user experience.

HiFiBerry team Dear Otso,
this looks really interesting. Would is also be possibel to change the output voltage regulator to output 12V? In this case it could power our HiFiBerry Amp which would be great for many use cases where no power supply is available.

Changing the output to 12V for one-off prototype to test the look and feel would be pretty simple. Change a few components, leave out the fuse so 12V output does not connect to 5V of Raspberry Pi, solder some wires from output to connect your Amp and it's done. The board would have power output of 12W, doing 30W is possible but it would require redesign of the board.

David this is a very old thread, but still very relevant :-) I want to power a RPi4 with a hifiberry AMP2 with a PoE HAT. Any recommendations on a model, or what I should look for (12V, 30W, 5A?)?
My project : I'm replacing an old B&O system whith had control nodes for every room in the house, but those control nodes had a cable that offered data and current at the same time. Very advanced for a system 25 years old :-) As such, I only have 1 conduit for data and electricity, and I would like to avoid breaking open walls in order to install power conduits. Hence PoE. But as far as I can see, the official Raspberry PoE HAT won' cut it for a AMP2.

I'm willing to create a multiroom set-up based on RPi & hifiberry but I'd like to minimize the cable network by using POE+.Is there any progress on the compatibility between hifiberry Amp product à POE+ HAT ?
