I wondered if anyone had experience of using the MoPi with the HiFi Berry AMP. I have just created a mpd based player for my wife with vintage fabric on a 1960s radio, works so well no my daughter wants one. This one I want to be portable and MoPi seems to provide a solution to this.
My question is whether you have any advice on how to interface the amp with something like the mopi.
Even better would be to build the mopi into the AMP :-).
Thanks
William

HiFiBerry team Hi,
as the Amp needs at least 12V, simple 5V power solutions for the Amp won't work. You can run the Amp from a 12-18V battery pack. However make sure that you do not fully discharge the battery (especially if your using LiPo batteries).
Best regards

nvieira Hi. Has anyone tried a Hifiberry Amp+ stacked on a MoPi stacked a on R-Pi?
Since the Amp+ powers the R-Pi, I'm wondering if the MoPi can still power (using batteries) the R-Pi when power to the Amp+ is cut. I don't expect the MoPi to power the Amp+ but I'd like to shutdown the R-Pi cleanly when power to the Amp+ is cut.
Thanks. -
HiFiBerry team Hi,
I'm not sure if this will work. As the Amp+ always powers the RPI, independent of other power sources, there is a risk that both won't work together. I wouldn't recommend this setup.
Best regards
Daniel
