Hi everyone,
i recently received a DAC for my model B and I'm trying to make it work as an Airplay speaker using this tutorial:
http://www.raywenderlich.com/44918/raspberry-pi-airplay-tutorial
To update my system with the new hardware, I followed the tutorial about kernel update, remove black listings etc...
But no sound exits from the DAC.
If I use the built-in hearphones jack everything is ok...
I'm a newbye about linux and hardware in general, so I don't know what to do!!!
Just one doubt:
once I create the file described at the point
"Configure ALSA"
do I have to modify somehow the file permissions?
Please help!
Thank you very much.
Carlo.

HiFiBerry team Check the output of aplay -l. Is the DAC listed there?
The easiest way for Airplay is using a distribution like Volumio, RuneAudio or PiMusicBox (not sure if this has also AirPlay support).
Best regards

Comino Carlo Thank you Daniel,
yes the DAC is listed in the output of that command.
But no audio is coming from the speakers...
I downloaded the preconfigured distribution on your site, to check if it is ok on the hardware side...
So you think that the problem is due to the Airplay usage, not to the DAC itself ?
Thank you again!

Comino Carlo Another question:
if i use one of the distributions you listed (Volumio etc...) your DAC is already supported ?
Did you try this distribution ?
If so, i will use one of them for sure! :)
Thank you,

HiFiBerry team We tried many of these with many of our boards, but not always the latest release with all boards. There are new releases quite often. Usually these 3 distributions work well. Sometimes, some configuration is needed, but the developers usually help with this. In general you should be able to active the DAC+ in the menu in RuneAudio and Volumio.
Best regards

Comino Carlo Hi Daniel,
everything ok!
With Volumio everything works out of the box!
Thank you again for your support.
