Hi,
I plan the device for my home automation use. For me low power consumption is essential. How much is the power consumption of HifiBerry Amp at 12VDC?
Best regards

HiFiBerry team Hi Chris,
power consumption of the Amp is driven by output power. Without anything running on the Raspberry Pi and no sound output at the Amp you can expect about 200mA-250mA current. Depending on the use case and output volume this can increase up to 2A.

chris5 Hi Daniel,
do you know the quiescent current separated for the Amp Module at 12V? I suppose 25 to 75mA. Is there a powerdown mode at the HifiBerry Amp?
Thanks in advance

HiFiBerry team Quiescent current of the Amp is <40mA. However as the Amp also powers the Raspberry Pi, the quiescent current will always be higher then this in a real application. The biggest part of the quiescent current will come from the Raspberry Pi.

Daniel
