Volumio 1.2 beta and Digi

I'm struggling to get this to work. I have a fresh install of Volumio beta 1.2 on the raspberry pi and a brand new Hifi Berry Digi.

I've followed the setup instructions and run check-system.dac :

Checking drivers

snd_soc_bcm2708_i2s loaded
bcm2708_dmaengine enbaled in /etc/modules
bcm2708_dmaengine loaded
snd_soc_wm8804 missing in /etc/modules

snd_soc_hifiberry_digi enbaled in /etc/modules
snd_soc_hifiberry_digi loaded

However I get no output to my DAC via the coaxial output. The optical output does not light up and I have no green LED on the Digi.

Can I fix this with config changes or is it dead?

  Jef,
  
  without the green LED, something is not working correctly. Can you try another power supply?

  The same raspberry pi and psu work fine with my Hifi Berry DAC. Is there a reason that the digi wouldn't work with the same combination?

  I've tried another pi psu. Pi works fine but no green led on digi board. Should the green led come on immediately with the power?
  
  Is there some soldering I should check ? A quick visual check reveals nothing dodgy.
  
  I have a multimeter and a scope. Can I check something on the board to fault find it?

  Hi Jef,
  
  in rare cases during powerup there are peaks in the power supply that can create problems for the Digi. I just want to check this.

  I've tried 2 psu's now. Is there another check you'd like me to do?

  Check the voltage on P3. You should see 5V there.

  The replacement Digi worked straight away with Volumio Beta 1.2.
  I'm feeding The Eagles Hotel California at 192kHz/24-bit into my Arcam rDAC via the Coaxial link and it sounds great.
