Any downsites comparing raspbmc to volumio?

Hey,

I decided it qould be nice to switch from volumio to raspbmc, since it is supported now.

The question is, can raspbmc play my flacs in full resolution with the hifiberry? Are there downsites regarding the audio quality?

  I don't know what formats & bitrates Raspbmc supports. I think, the risk, that HiFiBerry support breaks is a bit higher on Raspbmc as Sam is not using the standard kernel, but one that is heavily patched. This increases the risk that some driver won't work in an update. You might also look into OpenElec if you want to go with XBMC.

  Hey, I'm using OpenElec on my Mediacenter Machine, but thought it won't work with the hifiberry?

  I've heard from customers using it this way. To make finally sure, I would suggest asking in the OpenElec forum.

  I have both, Volumio and Raspbmc running. For Raspbmc, I could make Hifiberry DAC show in the settings, but it does not play a single sound! As I have not seen anybody with Raspbmc and Hifiberry DAC running together, I guess some more corrections have to be made until it will finally work.

  Yes, I have tried with the new Raspbmc and the hifiberry instructions ... it does not work for me. Does it work for you?
