I plan to use the amp+ on my pi2 in a 24/7 mode as the same pi2 drives also my home automation using openHAB www.openhab.org .
The pi usually needs around 6W in my current setup. What will it need with the amp+ installed, but not listening to music, quiet mode?
Thanks in advance

HiFiBerry team 6W is really a lot for a Raspberry Pi, it should usually run with a lot less (around 5V, 300-400mA). As the Amp+ uses a single power supply there are additional losses for voltage conversion. A Raspberry Pi with the Amp+ needs around 200mA at 12V in idle mode. As your power consumption is quite high, I can't say how much it will be in your environment.
