Just fyi/experimenting, if anyone is interested. Seeing what I can get out of digital sound quality wise, did find a BNC jack that worked. Simplifying it down to the bare essentials, to not mess with the spdif signal.
This was my test to see if it still worked:

HiFiBerry team Cool. What type of connector is this and where did you get it from?
Best regards
Daniel -
Scott Kramer Thanks, it's an Amphenol RF
Not a nice drop in though.
It's the closest I found, knew I'd have to remove the front 2 ground pins at least... also had to slightly drill the board (the 2 ground pins) to make it fit (was hoping to get lucky, didn't happen), you'll probably see with your pcb CAD it doesn't line up.
Nice part though. I'll probably look some more for a better fitting one. (Unless you update the board slightly for the next run :), could probably make it work for either jack type)

Scott Kramer Daniel, what would you do to make a perfect Digi+ PRO -- (ignore that fact there might not be a market for it)
what could you improve? -
HiFiBerry team Especially on the Digi, we would not change anything. I know that this might not be what everybody thinks, but I think any improvements need to be done on the analog side.
Best regards
Daniel
