Hi,
no way I can make my Hifiberry DIGI+ card with openlec 5.08 and Raspberry Pi 2. I`ve followed the manual but openelec doesn't recognize it.
The Digi+ was working in another rpi2. The only difference is that the new one boots with sd and usb and not only sd.

HiFiBerry team I can't see that it loads the HiFiBerry Digi device overlay. Check config.txt for typos.

Hans Heijmans I have a similar problem getting hifiberry Digi+ to work with Raspbian 3.18.x kernel. I followed the instructions and board was not recognized. Output of “sudo vcdbg log msg” is practically the same as flipflop's.

I have another SD-card with the latest OpenELEC installed and have no problems whatsoever, also followed the instructions for OpenElec 5 on this website.

HiFiBerry team Check config.txt and the output of “sudo vcdbg log msg”. It should load the overlay file. If it doesn't, something is wrong.

However, now I am able to select the Hifiberry in Kodi but it shows as "snd_rpi_hifiberry_digi Analog" while "snd_rpi_hifiberry_digi S/PDIF" is still missing. On OpenElec the S/PDIF variant is the one I use. With the "Analog" variant I do get some sound out of my speakers but cannot playback any DD or DTS content.

HiFiBerry team In this case, this won't work. You need a patched version. I recommend using OpenElec.

I already use OpenElec on a different SD card, which indeed works with Digi+ DD and DTS passthrough. The challenge is to also have it working on plain Raspbian so I won't have to switch SD cards every time.
I guess I am not the only one with this desire....
So it's running "./configure" again, which BTW fails in a lot of cases with many programs.
I will also ask Raspian and Kodi guys to include the patched version in the repos.
