I currently run a setup with squeezelite (by squeezeplug) on Kernel 3.18.x and the AMP+.
My question is regarding the hardware volume control:
Does anyone know if squeezelite can use the AMP+ integrated hardware volume control?
When I set the volume adjustable for the player on LMS, I cannot see any change on the amixer volume when I change it over the LMS. Does that mean the hardware volume control is NOT used?
If squeezelite cannot control the AMP+ hardware volume control, I guess the best option is to set 100% on squeezelite and adjust the volume via amixer (e.g. script). Am I wrong?
Thanks a lot!

HiFiBerry team Hi,
I don't know if squeezelite can control an ALSA mixer control. If not, the best thing is to set the volume to 100% and user alsamixer - exactly as you said.
Best regards

Samuel Darby I setup v1.8 of squeezelite to control the AMP+ hardware volume using the -V commmand line parameter. The -L option will list available controls. I can see the volume changes in alsamixer when controlled from iPeng as per conversation in this thread:
The only niggle I have noticed is that the usable volume range is between 15 and 45 as displayed by squeezeserver. I'm investigating if I can rebase the squeezelite volume range.
$ ./squeezelite -t
