I have a HiFiBerry Digi. I use raspbmc.
I have insert the modules in /etc/modules:
root@raspbmc:/etc# more modules
# /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time.
#
# This file contains the names of kernel modules that should be loaded
# at boot time, one per line. Lines beginning with "#" are ignored.
# Parameters can be specified after the module name.
snd_soc_bcm2708_i2s
bcm2708_dmaengine
snd_soc_wm8804
snd_soc_hifiberry_digi
The hifiberry is properly seen.
root@raspbmc:~# aplay -l

My Problem:
If I leave, however, the standard player I have only picture and no audio.
If I change on dvdplayer:
root@raspbmc:~# more /home/pi/.xbmc/userdata/advancedsettings.xml
<advancedsettings>
<video>
<defaultdvdplayer>dvdplayer</defaultdvdplayer>
<defaultplayer>dvdplayer</defaultplayer>
</video>
</advancedsettings>
if I have audio about SPDIF, however, no picture.
The output from check-systen.dac:

HiFiBerry team Hi,
I haven't heard of a "no picture" problem before - very interesting. Unfortunetaly I have no idea, what could the the cause of this problem. Any user has experienced this before?
You can also use the pre-configured OpenElec image from here:
http://www.hifiberry.com/guides/sd-card-images/
Best regards

Jens König Hi Daniel,
Thank you for the answer,
I have download and installed the image from you Web-site on a new sd-card.
The Problem, who i have descriped is the same.
I have enabled the MPG Lizens in the config file and then i have restart the raspberry.
I dont have sound and the raspberry restart often.
What can i do ? -
HiFiBerry team If the Raspberry restarts often, this looks like an unstable power supply. What kind of power supply are you using?
Best regards
Daniel -
Jens König Hi Daniel,
I have changed the power supply. I use an external usb-power supply.
the raspberry does not restart any more.
But i have trouble with the television frame and the audio.
My enviroment:
HiFiBerry:~ # vcgencmd codec_enabled MPG2
MPG2=enabled
HiFiBerry:~ #
HiFiBerry:~ # aplay -l

Unfortunately, I have no picture. -
HiFiBerry team Dear Jens,
unfortunately I have no idea what could be the problem here. Without the Digi the picture is working? Do you have another Raspberry Pi to test? In rare cases, the Raspberry Pi itself can be the problem (we had reports about broken traces to the P5 header, but the problem you described is nothing we heard about before).
Best regards

Jens König Hi Daniel,
if I remove the hifiberry, I have picture and ton about hdmi. And the raspberry is substantially quicker. i have another Raspberry Pi but it is a raspberry b+.
best regards

HiFiBerry team Hi Jens,
as we haven't seen this before there a 3 possible reasons:
- your Raspberry Pi has a hardware problem
- it is still a power supply issue
- the Digi board itself has a problem
We could replace the Digi and see if this solves the problem. In this case you have to return it to us and we test it and we will send a replacement.
Best regards

HiFiBerry team Dear Jens,
we have checked the board here and could not reproduce the problem. However, after reading your problem description again, it looks almost as this is a software problem with the dvdplayer backend. Maybe the dvdplayer backend has problem playing back your specific file format.
I've send you an email to discuss how you want to go on.
Best regards
Daniel
