Is it obligatory that there is a signal (red light) on TOS like this
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony/Philips_Digital_Interface#mediaviewer/File:Toslink2.jpg
when green LED D1 is on at HIFIBerry Digi Trafo 3.0 ?
There are no signals on output neither TOSLINK nor electrical, but LED D1 is on (light).
Config in Volumio 1.41PI shows audio output sndrpihifiberry. Mixer disabled.
This way HIFIBerry DAC R1.4 runs with same installation and same config. Excellent sound!
But as soon as I exchange to HIFIBerry Digi Trafo 3.0 no signals at outputs.
What can I do ?

HiFiBerry team Hi Andreas,
you're using the HiFiBerry DAC driver. This won't work with the Digi. You need to select the driver for the HiFiBerry Digi.aplay -l
on command line will show you if the right driver is installed.

Andreas WERNER Hello Daniel
Yes, with module snd_soc_hifiberry_digi in /etc/modules it works. Signal on TOS. Sounds good. But does it really sound better than DAC ? Don't know yet.
Is it possible to have both, snd_soc_hifiberry_digi AND snd_soc_hifiberry_dac in /etc/modules ? Should be possible as kernel loads/unloads modules dynamically.
Any experience ?
Best regards

HiFiBerry team Hi Andreas,
you can't load both modules as the I2S stack won't work correctly if two sound cards are configured. As the DAC driver always loads if it is configured, this will not work with the Digi plugged onto the Raspberry Pi.
Best regards
Daniel
