HifiBerry only outputting on one channel

I just got two HifiBerry DAC's. One works fine, the other only outputs sound on one channel. I can swap the boards out on the same pi and go from stereo to mono. Is there a fading control that's stored on the card?

  Hi Michael,
  
  do you use the DAC or the DAC+? The DAC+ has several mixer controls (check the aoutput of "amixer").
  The DAC does not have this. If the is no sound on one output of the DAC, this sounds like a hardware problem.

  This is the normal version. I think, we have to check it here. Can you please return it to us. Please send it as "defective return" with a value of 10€ as a normal letter. This works well and keeps shipping costs low. We will check it here and replace it if it is defective.

  Ok, I can return it if I can get an address. Do I need to mark an RMA number on the "normal letter"?

  Hi all,

  I seem to have the same problem. I checked all possible software or assembly issues but the red jack on a DAC+ PRO simply wont output any signal. Is there a similar return service for Germany?

  Hi Daniel,

  Thanks for the swift reply. I just found the invoice and it says it is only a DAC+ (not PRO) but it has golden jacks and the musicbox OS also only works if I set it to DAC+ PRO. On the other hand, the board looks more like the regular DAC+. Do you have an email adress that i can turn to?

  Same here in a Australia. Dac pro hat. It looks like the earth from the right rca contacts with the aux out of the pi4b board!
  Mine is still getting voltage but no sound at all.
  Had mine in the black steel hifiberry dac pro case. Didnt happen immediately but out of the blue it stopped.
  Nothing on the hat appears burnt or shorted.

  Update - wire from c8, r6, r3 and c7 to terminal positive or negative sound works talking
  About right channel. C7 is missing frequencies but surely that's part of the 4 part line to th
  Right channel. I could not hold my hands steady enough to tell if it was playing mono
  Or stereo as I do not have a test tone file.
  More details on that signal path c8 to c7 for right channel would be great so I can by pass
  The issue as I dont want to send it to the states! :)
