I've set up my Digi with Volumio and gone through all the forums and followed the instructions...
But when I play audio, even the test audio - I get white noise or a very broken sound - sometimes both.
I use the optical out, and it goes into a Emotiva UMC-200 preamp - which can handle the bit rate easily.
Really getting frustrated here...

HiFiBerry team Hi Sam,
what sample rate has the file your trying to play? Did you also try the electrical output?
Best regards
Daniel -
hill.sam.music Hi Daniel,
What do I plug the electrical output into? It just looks like a single channel RCA port....
File information:
kind: MPEG audio file
duration: 4:39
size: 107MB
bit rate: 320kbps
sample rateL 44.100 kHz
channels: Stereo
id3 tag: v2.4
encoded with: Unknown
format: MPEG-1 Layer 3 -
Ifor Phillips You plug in into either the Co1 or the Co2 inputs on the Emotiva. They are just above the two optical inputs. -
HiFiBerry team Hi Sam,
it seems, that your DAC does not features an electrical input. It is hard for us to say what could be the problem. You can send the DAC back to us and we will check it here and replace it if there is a hardware problem.
Best regards

hill.sam.music Hi Daniel,
I had a look at the back of my Emotiva UMC-200 and it does have the electrical inputs:
http://www.c4forums.com/uploads/monthly_12_2013/post-122958-0-19545300-1387833473.jpg
I plugged it in but to no avail..
I just changed the Audio Output rate and rebooted. Now the HifiBerry Digi doesn't even show up in the Audio Output menu.
Pretty sure it's a faulty one aye :/ -

Gotta admit that's a little annoying.. Seeing how shipping to the UK is both time consuming and expensive.. Is there any other way you can sort me out here?
Regards,
Sam -
