Hi
I don't seem to be allowed to post in the other forum for Digi so am posting here.
I have soldered on my Digi and have tried with Raspbmc, Volumio and the test image. From either the coaxial or optical I get no sound at all, however my pre amp registers a 48k PCM signal incoming so there is some kind of handshake between the digi and the pre-amp happening.
When I switch back to HDMI from the Pi and a HDMI SD/DIF optical splitter the pre-amp plays the sound from the Pi just fine.
What can I do to resolve this?
Thanks
Andrew

HiFiBerry team Dear Andrew,
the test image is also not working? Then it is a hardware problem. Let's start with the P5 connector. Check the soldering on the P5 connector. It is possible that one of the pins does not give a contact. Use a multimeter to see that all pins have a good contact.
Best regards

andrewfdoughty Test image is not working either. HDMI works fine. Switching to HifiBerry card and there is no sound. But there is a "handshake" between the Digi and the amp as the amp registers a 48k signal - just no sound. Is that possible with a non-connection - or bad soldering?
I dont' have a multimeter - I'm not an electrican. Is there some other way of checking the connections? -
HiFiBerry team Dear Andrew,
I suppose bad soldering. Without a multimeter you can't test this. The 48kHz signal will be generated even if no music data is available. Therefore I guess, one of the P5 solderings is not good.

andrewfdoughty You guessed exactly right!
I went over the soldering again and it works fine now.
Thanks and sorry for the trouble.
I am using it with XBMC as I couldn't get Volumio to mount my USB HDD. Works really well.
Is there an alternative iOs app to the official you recommend? -
HiFiBerry team Hi Andrew,
I can't really recommend specific iOS apps, but maybe one of our users has an idea?
Best regards
Daniel
