Hi
I've setup HiFiBerry Digi as advised in your tutorials for raspbmc, only for music output, video output is still on HDMI. Also the configuration in XBMC worked well. But still the toslink output is not light up and any playback of mp3 or alac won't start, the counter stays at 0:00.
The test image worked well on the verry same hardware.
What can I do?
Thanks

HiFiBerry team Check first, if the card is listed as sound card using aplay -l. If not, check /etc/modules.conf and blacklists in /etc/modprobe.d/...
Best regards

TiptoeOkin The card is listed. I am also able to choose it in XBMC. But just no playback or red toslink. -
HiFiBerry team Unfortunately I have no idea how to debug Raspbmc. Maybe some user in the Raspbmc forum can help. Or any other idea here?
Best regards

Michael Gleich Same Here.
I followed the instruction in the tutorials but it doesn´t work.
So i tried
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
it didn´t change anything but now I got the Popup that i should look in the Log.
the Log says:
CAESinkALSA::HandleError(snd_pcm_writei(1)) - snd_pcm_writei returned -5 (Input/output error) -
TiptoeOkin I got my Hifiberry running :-)
The problem was the Kernel. Somehow raspbmc wasn't updating the Kernel. And there seems to be a problem with 3.10. Now with 3.12 its woking.
