Hi
First of all the HiFiBerry works great. Nice improvement of my current setup!
Is it possible to force audio through both HDMI and the HiFiBerry with xbian?
Best regards

HiFiBerry team Hi Phillip,
I don't know if this works. It would mean outputting the sound on two devices. I'm not sure if XBian can work this way. I recommend asking this in the XBian forum. For the application, HiFiBerry DAC looks like a normal sound card. If this works with other sound cards, it should also work with the HiFiBerry DAC.
Best regards

Matthias M Hi,
so does that mean XBian supports HiFiBerry as DAC? As I understand Raspbmc still has problems. Is that different to XBian? And if it works: Can you please write a small "How To" for installation.

Phillip Müggler Hi Matthias
As of now the DAC is not supported in the current xbian kernel-bundle, but if the demands are high enough they will add them. Otherwise it will be supported from 3.12.x.
Check out this thread:

Piotr Czepek But XBMC on RPI doesn't support ALSA. So, even if there will be HifiBeryDAC kernel support in Xbian, OpenElec, etc., you wont be able to play music directly from the XBMC. -
HiFiBerry team Hi Piort,
Raspbmx supports ALSA, but it is in an early stage. The next release should work with the HiFiBerry DAC.
Best regards
Daniel
