Tuning HifiBerry DAC

Hi,

have anyone tried to tune the HiFiBerry DAC.

I really have no complains to the sound but want to try to compeed with some
High - End DAC´s.

I read some hints that the output capacitors are very important, so what type should be used to improve the sound (if this is possible at all :))

Soldering is no problem to me...

  Dear Harry,
  
  in many DACs you have output capacitors that blocks DC. This is not the case with this DAC. The smalls capacitors on the output are only parallel to the output and filter high frequencies above 200kHz. There is no need to change these.

  We think, the DAC is good as it is. If somebody uses long cables, an additional buffer stage at the output can help.
  When we designed the circuit, we used X7R capacitors. While audiophiles often do not like these, they work very well in this scenario. The small size is good here, because they work better on high frequencies (due to reduced inductance).
