Hello all,
I have several DAC+ Pro's (5 RCA version and 1 XLR version) and one DAC+, running on a mixture of Pi-2B, Pi-3B, Pi-3B+, and Pi-4B. Ran a lot of Volumio for a few years, but now I'm running Moode Audio everywhere. So I'm pretty comfortable with setting up Hifiberry/rPi streamers.
Anyway, I recently picked up a used DAC+ Pro that apparently has a problem. The Pi-3B and MoodeAudio 9.0.3 recognize it just fine, and the Green LED on the board lights up when playing audio files or internet radio streams, as expected. But I get zero output. I have swapped it in and out several times with a known good DAC+ Pro, so I feel like that rules out everything else (the Pi, the software install, the power supply, the RCA cables, etc.)
So... any advice on how to troubleshoot this board? Is it absolutely a hardware problem (e.g. blown outputs on the DAC chip?) or is there possibly some type of firmware on the DAC+ Pro that might be misconfigured? Any troubleshooting advice would be most appreciated!
P.S. has anyone ever swapped out the PCM5122 chip on one of these? I can buy a PCM5122PWR chip for less than 4 bucks, and I can handle the SMD reflow soldering, but is it that simple?
