Airplay on Beocreate 4

Hi 

I have a great setup of Beocreate AMP 4 setup with a pair of CX100 in stereo. Its really fantastic. One thing I havent been able to resolve as yet is this ; My MAC will connect to the beocreate via airplay no problem. However My Iphone 14 pro wont. It gets hung up asking for the airplay code. I have disapbled the requirement for a requested code on the beocreate web interface and then logged back in. The tickbox is not empty for require password but ticked for allow airplay itself.

Using a Pi4B

HIFIB OS 20230404

I also then tried "adding" it to my apple home but it suffers the same fate of requiring a code. Thanks In advance for any assistance.

  Sorry should read the tickbox is now empty for "require password"

  You might try the HBOS64 alpha version that comes with a newer version of Shairport

  Hi 

  I have updated to 20240115 and am having the same issue. The IMAC will connect OK but the iphone 14 pro running iOS 17.3 will not connect. It does "see" the airplay device as Beocreate but will not connect. It is still asking for a code when the option is deselected to ask for one on the Beocreate web app (the option to allow for airplay is selected)

  I've tried adding a password then reconnecting but this also does not work. Ive also tried leaving the Pi connected to ethernet this also didnt help.

  Tried adding through the apple home app also to no avail.

  Tied from an 10th gen. ipad running same iOS also to help, same issue.

   

  Should I try Alpha5 ?....prob will this afternoon!

  Nope still no luck connecting to airplay from the iPhone. IMAC still fine.

  Sorry no. It's working here just fine. As it's also working with your Mac, I can't say what might be causing this.

  Can I ask does it ask you 2 questions pls?;

        1. Does it prompt you to;    

  Enter the onscreen code for "beocreate"

        2. What version of iOS are you using on what iOS device? 

  It asks me to (Q.1 above) this wether or not the password toggle is ticked or not on beocreate webpage. I have just checked and my iPhone will connect to other devices. For example my smart TV. When I request the Airplay connection to the TV an 8 digit passcode with a hyphen half way through it comes up on the TV. Once I input this the Airplay connects for audio & OR screen share to the TV no issues. 

  I get the distinct impression this is one of those we are not going to solve type problems. 

  Checked GitHub. Nothing on there similar.

  No passcode, tested with IOS 17.2.1

  Thanks for that. Must be my setup somehow then. See if I can figure it out. If I manage it, I'll come back and share how.

  OK. Think I may have found out why this is causing an issue. 

  There is a requirement set by the device management on the IPhone to enforce airplay passwords on pairing. This is locked and I am unable to change it. 

  So for items like TVs its fine as the passcode just pops up on the screen, is input on the iPhone and then pairs. But for devices with no screen it is an issue. 

  So my question is now under Ropieee can I connect a screen to the RPi4 where I would see the passcode pop up and confirm this on the iPhone (wirelessly ideally -but wired as a one off to pair it isn't a massive issue) ?
