HifiBerryOS 64:

The alpha 2 is initially running on a pi zero 2 W with a digi+ pro. I use roon and airplay as sources. Nice :)
Thank you for the feedback!
For all those who want to take a look at the Pi Zero 2 W with a Hifiberry Board and HifiberryOS. The Wifi of this Pi is too weak for anything above CD quality. A USB Ethernet adapter is definitely useful here. Works without any problems.
hello daniel,
seems to work as expected on my beocreate with raspi 4. verry good!
could you please give way to install tidal in this new os?
thxalot
could you please give way to install tidal in this new os?
Docker is still included, but somebody probably have to adopt the container to 64bit binaries. I recommend to post on the Tidal topic here in the forum as this isn't developed, managed or even tested by us.
ok. also as expected.
i thought, native integration would make it - as it is with spotify connect - much easier.....
noch einmal dankeschön für deine / eure arbeit an den produkten und dem os!
Brief feedback on Alpha 3-5: I can no longer install these versions on a Pi 2 Zero W with Digi2 Pro. The system hangs shortly after calling up the user interface and the system is then no longer responsive. Alpha 2 still runs perfectly. Let me know if I can help.
Please open a bug report here:

We don't have a Pi2 W here right now, but we'll look into this at some point.
Could anyone confirm given information (Andreas K. 20.12) that playback quality depends on the RPI chipset?
As far as I know it is related to the weak BT protocol rather than the hardware. For now, 44.1kHz is max for BT due to bandwidth limitation.
Regardless, I was convinced that using Airplay is slightly better and uses 48kHz but I just checked and it's not.
Hopefully, what Andreas said is not correct. Otherwise DLNA rendering with RPI zero 2 might be limited and the only possibility to hear wireless lossless audio is gone.
Bluetooth is not really suitable for lossless formats, regardless of the platform. My comment referred to the weak Wi-Fi of the Pi Zero 2 W. The bandwidth is sufficient for 16bit 48kHz with a good connection, but not for more. However, a connection via Ethernet adapter to USB is stable and preferable in any case.
just installed alpha ver 7 on mi pi5
went with ease ....TIDAL connect works as well as a docker and visible on "sources"
you have to enable it first in order to show active .
im using digi2 pro fw 2.2
i must say that the DIGI PRO is quiet sucks compare to direct chromecast stream but it works .
Elad could you please describe in detail how you got Tidal working?
Its a highly needed addition to HifiberryOS.
Hi Rai My request to send the link for the tidal is pending for approval since yesterday (:
Il try again .
https://github.com/TonyTromp/tidal-connect-docker/
Hi I try to put the hifiberryOS64 on my pi3A+.
It seems to work. But as it don't have a Ethernet connection (and I am not really good at configuration things) I just could see the "bash" dialog with HDMI connection.
If someone can tel me how to enter the name and password of the wifi connection it would hep me a lot.
Hi again,
I found how to do it with Ifconfig and Iwconfig but I had an error when I put
Iwconfig wlan0 essid MYSSID key MYKEY
it respond : Error for wirless request "Set ESSID" (8B1A) : SET failed on device wlan0 ; Operation not supported
Any idea why?
Hi,
Is there any infomation on DLNA support in this new 64bit version? For several years I've been happily streaming DLNA from my JRiver server to several RPis running HiFiBerryOS. Not having DLNA support would be a real showstopper for me, and JRiver is the only music server that I've found that I can live with.
I've spent some time searching for information on DLNA support in HiFiBerryOS, and found some statements from a few years ago that usage of DLNA among HiFiBerry users was low.
I guess I'm just looking for reassurance here :-)
We just removed it, but it's planned to bring it back at some point as an extension.
Finally got around to it. Installed 64 on Pi3A+ with Dac+ (phone jack) to be used as BT player to AV amp (phone jack > RCA). Software install? Piece of cake! Setup as BT player? Piece of more cake. Connect my iPhone 11 and play tunes? Works. Works like a charm. Only issue after initial use is that connecting my desktop Pi5 (8GB) BT keeps disconnecting. Not a big deal as I usually just use USB digital audio out to my AV amp. FYI, other BT audio from the Pi5 never really worked either.
Alpha 8 now available, anyone tried Tidal yet?
hi Rai as i posted before with links to the addon
its working great . simple install just copy and paste the commands from the git .
https://github.com/TonyTromp/tidal-connect-docker/
is theres a way to upgrade to alpha8 from 7 without losing config ?
Not yet, but I hope we have this ready next week.
Loving the new radio-browser search, great work by the team :-)
As you can see, you can find any web radio station easily, as long as you know some letters of its name.
And this makes adding new cool stations to your favourites very, very easy.
It is not yet possible in Hifiberry64 to search with tags, language, country or genre.
But those search terms do work on the Radio-browser.info webpage search very well.
And the search results:
Search with the term flac:
Alpha 8, trying to find radio station
hard rock station
Cant find hard rock station with Hifiberry radiobrowser search but it can be found with tunein search.
hard rock station can be found with PC on the radio-browser search though.
When using the Hifiberry search, the previous search results from radiobrowser or tunein can stay visible, although the latest search comes up with "sorry, no results".
Found from github: "Radiobrowser only supports a single search string".
