Does anyone know why when you change volume from the browser app it does not update on AirPlay (iphone) or Spotyfy (iphone also)
I guess it's not a problem when you run hifiberry as a DAC, but when you have an AMP it's a big problem
Is this by design or a bug (or just me)? Mac/iPhone issue? PC issue?

Both Airplay and Spotify use reverse-engineered software that may or may not fully work as expected. With Airplay there seems to be small changes with each iOS release that sometimes break things. While the volume synchronisation often works, sometimes it doesn't. This can depend on the specific version of the software you're using.
I tried to change it over dbus but it looks like shairportsync is not exposed … (my dev skils are not updated since the 90s)
