Optical Input Not Active on DAC+ DSP

I am setting up my HiFiBerry DAC+ DSP for the first time and not able to get Optical In to work as a source (no sound output) and my status does not change from “Not Active” - I have tried every DSP Profile (11-14). My optical output on my TV is set to PCM and my setup works with another cheap DAC. I can output via Optical to play music so I think I am using the correct spdif for input (the one that is not emitting light). Any suggestion on what I can try before I return this?

  I have the problem after a couple of power losses on my property, and I cannot get it working again.
  I have tried to flash a new hifiberryos onto a new sd-card, same issue!
  I think it must be related to the DAC+ DSP board itself, can it be reset to factory setting or something similar?

  Try HBOS64 Alpha with the latest v15 profile

  That worked somehow, v15 was able to “revive” the board although with no volume control at all.
  When switching back to old os with v14 profile, so detects optical input, but no sound is output.
