What is a good way to start streaming music on my Amp 100?

Hi, I think I've got everything set up correct as far as the board and the network (ethernet so far).  I have a spotify account and a lot of MP3 music on my Windows Laptop and my Samsung phone.  i play my samsung phone in my car and it sounds really good.  I am lookng forward to hearing the Amp 100.  i am running Windows 11 and could put linux on my laptop if needed and I am running Ubuntu under WSL2.

In my browser I can tupe in hifiberry.local and it works, but I don't know how to get it to find music to send to the hifiberry.  I would like to setup spotify, but that looks a little complicated are first.  I'd like to play my own mp3s on the Amp 100.  Do you have any suggestions on how to get this started in a fairly simple way?

  There is nothing to do to "setup" Spotify. Just enable it and select the HiFiBerry device in your Spotify app.

  OK - I booted the device, started up spotify, played a song, clicked on  connect to a device icon and there it was.  I selected the hifiberry device, got a message for a couple of seconds that said it was connecting and then it flashed a message for an instant saying that is is listening on hifiberry and the musid stops,  I click on play again and the hifiberry is dosconnected.  This keeps happening.  I don't hear any music from the speakers I've connected to the hifiberry.  

  I'm pretty sure I don't understand how the volume is set.  between the volume limit setting, the volume slider minimum and volume settings on both the hiiberry and the on spotify. 

  So if you could help me get the volume out of the speakers and how to set the volme settings, I would much appreciate it.

  Update, I got it to connect and play through the hifiberry from Spotify on my PC.  I also got it to work on my android phone after I updated the spotify app to the most recent from playstore.  I still would like a little advice on the volume settings and if the mixing should be done in spotify or the hifiberry (or both).

  For the volume settings, are we talking about inut to the amp from spotify vs volume being the output from the amp being set on the hifiberry?  Is this a volume vs, gain kind of thing?
