Any control over MPD update in HiFiBerry OS?

I have already wrote a post on this, but it went unnoticed, I believe:

The MPD update process is invoked as if in a loop and this significantly increases the temperature of the Pi processor.

I think that scheduling the MPD update, like every night, would be a nice feature, but invoking it in an endless loop is wrong, as it consumes electricity and wears out the hardware. How to control it?
