have the amp 100, with the pi touch screen, running the most recent OS.
While streaming from internet, i get those snap crackle and pop of yesterdays vinyl (a slightly worn record) while when I use the Toslink input (with DSP) is gone. I even stream from the same radio station, streaming from the pi, the static persists, but not so from my laptop (my audio interface has Toslink) So my only thought is this is from the software side of things and not hardware, which works like a charm.
Hmm, that's a strange behaviour. It indicates that the data from the Pi doesn't seem to be transmitted correctly. The Amp100 is plugged directly onto the Pi? How is your display connected?
Sorry for the delay, but I did switch around how the pi display was powered. originally its powered by the pi input (usb3 port) and the pi was being supplied by the amp 100. So I managed to power the display separately and the static issues have gone. Also before the switch, the touch screen was very slow in response, thinking it might have been just software issues with a touch screen drivers, but evidently not.
so this case can be closed
