Failed to reset device [DAC+ADC HW 1.2] - Kernel 5.15

Hello,

We have been experiencing a problem for some time now with the use of Raspberry Pi under kernel 5.15. The Hifiberry DAC+ADC HW 1.2 boards (which we bought in bulk last year) are recognized on their first use. However, sometimes after a reboot of the Raspberry Pi, the Hifiberry is no longer recognized by the system.

We have correctly made the necessary modifications in the configuration file (/boot/config.txt) following these instructions: https://www.hifiberry.com/docs/software/configuring-linux-3-18-x/

When the Hifiberry is not recognized, we encounter this error during boot:
[ 9.737883] pcm512x 1-004d: Failed to reset device: -121

When the error appears for a card, it is no longer recognized by the Raspberry Pi, regardless of the kernel (4.x, 5.x, 6.1).
This problem never happen (yet) with lower version of kernel (4.x).

Is there any other way to test/reset the Hifiberry board, which is, nevertheless, receiving power correctly?
Could-it be an EEPROM error?

  Did you set "force_eeprom_read" to 0 ? In this case, the EEPROM has no impact at all. However, there are also no known problems with the EEPROM configuration for the DAC+ ADC.
  
  After a power cycle everything is working correctly again?

  We did set force_eeprom_read=0 in the /boot/config.txt file as you recommended.
  

  The first time we used the Hifiberry (after configuring the /boot/config.txt), the card was correctly recognized. For our use, we are required to perform periodic reboots, and sometimes, for certain sensors, the Hifiberry is no longer recognized randomly upon startup after several days/month. Subsequently, it may no longer be recognized at all after several reboots.

  How can we diagnose the card (from an electrical or digital point of view)?
  Is there a way to force the driver to load or to diagnose it?

  We haven't seen this somewhere else. If the driver can't talk to the device there you can't force it to load. Does it load after a power cycle?

  After failure to detect the device, a power cycle doesn't load the module anymore.

  What can we do to debug the device (voltage test point, signal test point,...) ?
  Is it possible to send you back example of device with the problem?
