HELP - No Sound - Tried everything - RPi3B+ DAC2 Pro + DSP

Greetings (sorry this is a book),

I have been working with this for about two weeks now, I thought I could figure it out, but I am stumped.

I have a RPi3B+, DAC2 Pro and DSP Module, I cannot get any sound out of this combination out of either port of the DAC2 Pro.  I know it is talking, as I can see it with 'aplay -l' (see below):

# aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: sndrpihifiberry [snd_rpi_hifiberry_dac], device 0: HifiBerry DAC HiFi pcm5102a-hifi-0 [HifiBerry DAC HiFi pcm5102a-hifi-0]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

I have tried Volumio, and HifiBerryOS v20230404 and I even went back to HifiBerryOS v20111105 with the same result - silence.

With Volumio, I would get the alsa error if I chose 'HiFiBerry DAC Plus'.  If I selected 'HifiBerry DAC' I would see it as Device2, but could not get anything out of it.  (it is my understanding that it should be using dacplus based on previous threads, and google-fu).

I moved to HiFiBerryOS v20230404 with similar results. Diagnostics sees it as DAC+ DSP and I see it as noted above.  I know they are talking, as when I am playing something the DSP LED turns on, and I have even uploaded v14, v13 and v12 of the DAC+ DSP Universal programs successfully.  I tried test tones (1kHZ sine), nothing.  Internet radio, nothing.  FLAC, nothing.  My amp is connected to a passive equalizer (as I like to see the music too), and have even tried multiple inputs on the amp (other sources in the same inputs work just fine).

Disappointed, I went back to v20211105 with the same results.

In both instances, config.txt has 'dtoverlay=hifiberry-dac'.  If I manually change it to 'dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus', it will not boot, it hangs trying to start services.  I have 'force_eeprom_read=0' as well.  I have checked for output volume limits, but I see in 'journalctl | grep volume' that it is set to 99%.

I am stumped.  I followed everything in the 'what to do if you have no sound' post, nothing.

Though rare, I think I may have a hardware problem, so I am turning to the experts to help me troubleshoot.  Below is my Diagnostic Information.

Please review and let me know what you think.  Thank you!
