aplay: device_list:268: no soundcards found...

Hi all,

I've just started using my first Hifiberry board.

Raspberry Pi 3 running RasPlex version 1.8, with DAC+Lite HW1.3

Following : https://support.hifiberry.com/hc/en-us/articles/205377651-Configuring-Linux-4-x-or-higher

I edited the RasPlex config.txt file by commenting out the Lirc line with a "#", and then uncommented the Dac+ line by removing it's "#".

Now when I SSH to it, and try aplay -l, i get this:

aplay: device_list:268: no soundcards found...

What cold I have done wrong? It seemed quite straightforward...

  Here is the contents of my boot/config.txt file. I've highlighted what I changed in bold:

  Hi,

  for the DAC+ Light, you need to use the hifiberry-dac overlay, NOT the dac-plus

  This option was not included in the list offered in the stock RasPlex file, so Ihave added the line you suggested and re-commented out the dacplus line, so it now reads:.

  # Uncomment to enable HiFiBerry overlay
  # NOTE: You must disable the lirc-rpi overlay (or change lirc GPIO pin) for HiFiBerry to work correctly
  # dtoverlay=hifiberry-amp
  # dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus
  dtoverlay=hifiberry-dac
  # dtoverlay=hifiberry-digi

  Here it is in (a work in progress) my kitchen cupboard, wired off to ceiling speakers.
