Creating a volume indicator

Dear Community and Hifiberry team,

a while back I got myself a Hifiberry and I am really happy ever since. In fact I decided to strip down my hifi gear and also the preamp had to leave. The Hifiberry is feeding my DSP directly from where the signal goes further to the poweramps. I use KODI on the Pi and Yatse on my phone. Really I almost do not need more. Just one thing: a feedback on the level of the volume. I am planning to build some kind of rack for the poweramps including a volume meter but I am not good with electronics. Could I use something like this:

It sound promising from the description but where do I need to grab the signal without influencing the sound quality? Is it even possible?

Many thanks in advance!!
