Connecting an Amazon Echo (via Bluetooth and LibreElec) - Script failing

Hi Folks - Rocking this whole Echo, LibreElec, DAC, project.  I'm all the way to the scripty fun and it seems to move through but really it fails.  Specifically it's requiring a source name, and says your bluetooth audio source is (blank).

Additionally, I don't see the Echo sending out music the PI.  The pi never actually shows up on the echo Speaker pairing screen and the Echo acknowledges the device is a mobile phone. 

 

Ideas?

  Hi,

  you first have to enable Bluetooth and in the settings menu and pair the device before you can run the script. Did you do this?

  Hi Daniel,

   

  Yes.  I initially paired the Pi to the Amazon Echo.  To note, the Echo thinks it paired a phone and not to a bluetooth speaker.  I'm wondering if there is an issue with A2DP working correctly within the LibreElec build?  Thoughts would be appreciated.  Note I used the latest available version of LibreElec.  I also have started with a fresh install of the both times I've attempted this situation.  Could you advise if I should be using an older build of LibreElec?

  Bump.  Still, even with new LibreElec, the same issues.

  To be fully specific, there is no sound.  I have followed and trouble shot everything.  It appears as tho LibreElec fixed their driver issue.  Please advise.  I do experience the script executing successfully.

  Hi,

  this script is provided "as is". There might have been changes in LibreElec that let the script fail now. In this case, you do need to do the pairing configuration by hand without this script.

  So when you say in the blog: 

  KNOW ISSUES AND LIMITATIONS

  • If you restart your LibreElec system, you need to re-connect the Bluetooth audio connection on your Amazon Echo using the Echo App
  • If the BT audio device isn’t connected, the btlibre script will fail.
  • Multiple devices sending music via Airplay are not supported.
  • There had been very little testing, therefore something might not work as expected. Please report issues in our forum.

  Really you mean you'll provide no support.  I'm paired, I'm not getting audio from this specific stream.  When I pair a phone, it works great.  SO yes, I'm seeking your assistance.  If you're not going to assist, then I suggest removing the bit about reporting issues to the forum.

  in general we can't give any support for 3rd party software as we're not the developers of this software,
  We try to help as much as possible. However, in this case, I can't say what's the problem. Posting in the forum can still help as other users might have an idea to fix this. Alternatively, you can also post in the LibreElec forum. There might be users that know how to debug this.
