In my usecase (a NTFS USB drive attached to Raspberry Pi 4, 90k files) I'm seeing continuous high CPU usage in top (over 90% all the time) of:
/bin/mpd --no-deamon
File indexing / database updates have finished. Is this still expected behavior? Any ideas on how I can see what MPD is so busy with? Should we expect improved behavior if I reformat to ext4?
So I'm not 100% sure if this is correct, but it seems to me that MPD was checking the files continuously, looking for changes, and this was causing the high CPU usage.
Updating '/etc/mpd.conf'
auto_update "no"
And rebooting, seems to have solved the problem. Of course, I will need to manually update for now :).
It would be interesting to understand if this issue goes away with a native linux filesystem.
