Power through PI vs power through DAC

I understand that I can power the pi with DAC2 HD either through the pi usb port or through the DAC board.

Is there any benefit in connecting power through the DAC?

  The main disadvantge by doing so is that you bypass the fuse on the Pi. While a few users think it sounds differently, I don't see any advantage in doing so.
