I intent to use the Amp2 on a Raspberry Pi 400, but on the page it says:
The HiFiBerry Amp+ will be mounted on top of the Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi will be powered by the Amp. It is not allowed to connect 5V to the Micro-USB port of the Raspberry Pi.
We do not recommend the Pi400 with any of our cards. While theoretically this might work, The Pi400 isn't design to make a good connection with a HAT. It's easy to break it - especially with speaker cables connected.

You can't use USB power to the Pi400. The Pi is being powered by the Amp2

You simply can't connect 2 power supplies to the same Pi. You need to use ONE power supply for both the Amp2 and the Pi - the one connected to the Amp2.
Ok, is this power supply listed on your web page? I suppose the standard power supply that comes with it are for AC and not for 12V car?
I'm not sure which one you mean, but we recommend 12-18V. While theoretically you could also power it from 12V in a car, you need to make sure to add protection. Car power can have high voltage spikes that can damage an Amp.
ok, it powers the Pi from its own power supply, but what if you want to add more amps for additonal speakers; how does that wire up?
I have two full range speakers and two tweeters in my car. The sub I have on its own amplifer, so I guess I'll keep it there, for now.
You can't connect more than one Amp2 to a Pi. If you need 4 channels, the Beocreate 4-channel amplifier is the right one. None of this has a line-level sub output.

There is no subwoofer output on any of our boards. Some subwoofer amplifiers have a speaker level input. You might check the manual of your subwoofer amplifier.

In this case, the only option might be an external DAC for the subwoofer connected to the TOSLink output.
1. Are we talking about the Beocreate 4CA, which doesn't have a case? Will there be a case developed or do we have any case I can 3d print?
2. Does the Beocreate 4CA have a TOSLink output, cause it says nothing about that on the page?

I was thinking of mounting this to maybe a DIN Rail or something. Is there nothing it can be mounted to? How do you use it in development?;) Is it just lying on the table?

The craddle is designed to be mounted into a CX50/CX100 speaker.
In develpment, we never use any cases, but just put everything on an antistatic mat (sometimes even just on the tablke without a mat).

Your are using a Beocreate? This already has a TOSLink input
No, we talked about having a separate DAC, so that I could send a line level signal to my active subwoofer.
That means I would need to send TOSLink from the Beocreate to a DAC, which sends the signal to the subwoofer.
While the DAC+ DSP could do this, a "normal" external audio DAC is probably easier to use for this.

Ok, it seems my active 4Ω subwoofer (Ground Zero GZCS 10SUB-ACT) has a High Level Input. That means I don't need a separate DAC.
I can just wire the subwoofer to one of the speaker outputs then? There's no significance in that it has a different total impedance? I also assume bass is the same for both speaker outputs in a stereo configuration.
Usually subwoofers also have stereo high level inputs. However, you 're probably right that low frequencies are usually mono anyway.
